Prodrive P25

The Prodrive P25 is the ultra-limited road-going sports car created by Prodrive to commemorate 25 years of the rally legend – the Subaru Impreza WRC97. Built by the same team that engineered Subaru’s championship-winning rally cars, the P25 reimagines the iconic Impreza 22B for the modern era, combining motorsport authenticity with cutting-edge technology and craftsmanship.

Only 25 examples of the P25 were ever produced worldwide, each hand-built in Prodrive’s Banbury, UK headquarters. This example, Chassis #20, was completed and delivered in November 2024 before being shipped to Japan in March 2025 with import taxes fully paid. It remains registered under UK documentation, using a 1998 Subaru GC8 chassis as its base. With just 1,550 km on the odometer, it is in exceptional condition having received a full bill of health from Prodrive’s techs, who travelled to Japan to carry out the car’s first scheduled service and maintenance, officially stamped in the service book.

The P25 is powered by a bespoke 2.5-litre turbocharged flat-four engine producing over 400 hp and approximately 600 Nm of torque. This is paired with a six-speed sequential paddle-shift gearbox, rally-derived launch control, and an anti-lag system, delivering an authentic motorsport experience. Weighing under 1,200 kg thanks to extensive carbon composite construction, the P25 accelerates from 0–100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds. Power is distributed through a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system with active centre and limited-slip differentials, ensuring exceptional traction and balance.

Chassis #20 pays homage to Subaru’s golden rally era with a special “World Rally Blue” exterior finish, the same iconic shade as the Impreza 22B. Most P25s were finished in the darker “Prodrive Blue,” making this car uniquely significant. Complementing the exterior are gold wheels and a matching gold roll cage, echoing classic Subaru rally livery. Inside, the car features a two-tone “World Rally Tribute” blue interior, a bespoke configuration that reinforces its connection to Subaru’s WRC heritage. Every surface, from the carbon fibre door cards to the rally-inspired controls, reflects a perfect fusion of nostalgia and modern precision.

This P25, believed to be the only one currently in Japan, represents one of the rarest and most desirable homages to Subaru’s rally legacy. Its color specification, low mileage, and factory service make it stand out even within the 25-car production run. With its connection to both the original 22B and Prodrive’s WRC history, it offers an unmatched blend of collectibility, performance, and historical significance.
