The Callaway Corvette 25th Anniversary Edition was developed to celebrate 25 years of Callaway Competition, which is one of the four core companies and the motorsports division of Callaway based in Leingarten, Germany. Founded in 1995 by Ernst Wöhr & Giovanni Ciccone, Callaway Competition have been very successful in various GT racing competitions, such as the ADAC Masters, and most recently, the Fanatec GT World Challenge. The Callaway Corvette 25th Anniversary Edition was not only the last front-engined Corvette, but also the most powerful Corvette with a warranty from the factory.
Based on the SC757 Callaway Corvette, the 25th Anniversary Edition features a lowered ride height for improved handling, along with longer wheel bolts that enables the wheel spacers to enhance track width. In terms of the aerodynamics, a carbon fibre splitter and undertray provided increased downforce, along with air duct control for the engine oil and front brakes. The rear spoiler, known as the “Champion,” is derived from its GT3 race car, and complements the aerodynamic balance of the car as it can also be adjusted.
Under the bonnet is a 6.2-litre V8 engine equipped with Callaway’s GenThree™ supercharger and a unique intercooler system with the TripleCooled™ design, both of which enable it to produce 757 horsepower and 1,030 Nm of torque. The car’s power is linked to a 7-speed manual transmission with the Callaway S3 Shifter for a more precise and quick-shifting feel.
Another highlight feature is the Callaway HD Cooling System, which is exclusively developed for Callaway Corvettes and works effectively with the Callaway GenThree™ Supercharging. It is equipped with a larger grille made of carbon fibre and laser-machined grill insert with “Callaway” branding.
The 25th Anniversary Edition also sports a Callaway Sports Exhaust System, in which the muffler is a single element, and the exhaust tips are integrated in a Double-D design. Not only does this improve the aesthetics, but also its performance and engine sound.
Only 25 examples are built worldwide, with most going to the United States, and a few in Canada, Germany and Japan. Buyers had the option of having their C7 Corvettes be equipped with the Champion Package, which includes a TrakPak that consist of race-derived components and chassis set-up specifically designed for track use.
This example is chassis #1 of the 25 made, featuring a red exterior and the “Champion Package”, with several additional optional features added onto the interior, such as the rollbar, and Callaway Carbon sports seat. The interior features an alcantara finish, with Callaway badging on the steering wheel.
