The Apollo Intensa Emozione (IE) captivates with its rare blend of raw power, advanced engineering, and timeless allure. Designed by Jowyn Wong and meticulously assembled in Affalterbach, Germany, the Apollo houses a naturally aspirated 6.3-litre F140 V-12, churning out an impressive 780 horsepower. With a 0 to 60 mph time of just 2.7 seconds, it stays true to tradition, promising not only uncompromising performance but also a distinctive engine sound that harks back to automotive heritage. In a modern era dominated by turbocharged and hybrid powertrains, the Intensa Emozione stands as a beacon of tradition, reminding enthusiasts of a time when raw power reigned supreme.
The Intensa Emozione takes a radical departure from its predecessor, the Gumpert Apollo, boasting a fully carbon fibre construction from chassis to body panels, provided by the same supplier as Pagani. Weighing in at a mere 1,250kg, thanks to its carbon tub, front and rear crash boxes, and body panels, this hypercar delivers incredible performance but also boasts 1,350kg of net downforce at 186mph, allowing it to theoretically emulate Formula 1 cars by driving on a ceiling.
Beyond its lightweight construction, the Intensa Emozione showcases advanced aerodynamics and engineering, prioritising track performance with razor-sharp handling and agility. Every aspect of the design, from the active aerodynamics system to the state-of-the-art suspension setup, is meticulously crafted to redefine the boundaries of hypercar performance, setting new standards for driving dynamics and responsiveness.
With only 10 units and 2 prototypes produced, each car is a bespoke creation, tailored to the owner’s preferences and specifications. From the interior appointments to exterior finishes, customisation options abound, allowing owners to create a truly unique hypercar that reflects their individual style and taste. In this particular example, the IE is draped in a Samurai Blue tinted carbon with light-reflecting particles, highlighted with bold white and yellow accents in perfect harmony of the aggressive styling. Reminiscent of the national football team of Japan, as well as the iconic Indigo blue that is so synonymous with Japanese culture. Quite fitting as this is the only IE currently in Japan.
