The 2022 Koenigsegg Regera is a limited-production hybrid hypercar manufactured by Swedish automaker, Koenigsegg. The Regera is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors, producing a combined output of over 1,500 horsepower and over 1,475 pound-feet of torque. The Regera is capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of over 250 mph.
The Regera’s unique powertrain, named the Koenigsegg Direct Drive system, eliminates the traditional gearbox and instead uses a hydraulic coupling to transfer power directly to the rear wheels. This results in a smoother and more efficient power delivery, as well as a reduction in weight.
