At the time of launch it was one of the fastest ever production cars to lap the Nürburgring with a time of 7:14
The Lexus LFA is loved for its V10 and the incredible noise it produces. This engine is famously the size of a V8 and lighter than a V6, the redline is at 9,000 rpm and it can reach that figure in just 0.6 seconds. It was developed with Yamaha Motors and the exhaust note was tuned by Yamaha Corporation, the company better known for making musical instruments. The result is a sound that is similar to the one old F1 cars used to make. The chassis and body are made of carbon fibre and overall it took Lexus close to 10 years of development to make the LFA. It was made to show Toyota’s/Lexus’ technical capabilities and it’s almost certain that we will never see a similar car made again.
