Honda produced the NSX-R GT for homologation purposes to improve the NSX race car’s competitiveness in the GT500 class of Super GT. The NSX-R GT is based on the NSX-R but features a 180mm longer and 90mm wider body with improved aerodynamics and more effective cooling. Perhaps most striking on this bodykit is the non-functional roof scoop mounted on the rear window.
The NSX-R GT is mechanically identical to the standard NSX-R, it’s powered by a 3.2-liter NA V6, producing around 290 horsepower. The car’s power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
The NSX-R was exclusively sold to Japan and is itself a rare and desirable car. The NSX-R GT, however, is amongst the most elusive JDM cars, with only 5 produced and just this single example in private ownership. This car, with identification number RGT001, had been with the same owner since new and has less than 1,000km. The car now joins the BINGO Collection where it will continue to be a fixture in showrooms and car events.
