The M1 was powered by a 3.5-liter inline-six engine that produced 277 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. It was paired with a five-speed manual transmission that sent power to the rear wheels. The car’s unique design, which featured a low, wedge-shaped body and pop-up headlights, was created by Italian design house Giugiaro.
