The First Customer Jesko Arrives in Japan
Press Release
The first of six customer Jesko’s to be delivered by Koenigsegg Bingo Sports, the official Koenigsegg dealer for Japan, has landed. The first example to grace the island is an Attack, finished in Crystal White with gold leaf accents and a carbon slipstream, over an orange leather interior.
The Crystal White exterior colour was also sported by the Jesko Absolut demo car, which came to Japan for the launch of the Gemera in December 2020. This launch saw the Gemera and Jesko Absolut demo cars on display at our original Tokyo Showroom, before moving to Osaka where they spent a few more days on display. Now, nearly four years later, we are very excited to be delivering the first Jesko to our client.
Introduced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show with a production run of 125, owners were given the choice between the Attack, focused on track driving, and the Absolut, focused on speed. The car is named for Founder and CEO, Christian von Koenigsegg’s father, Jesko von Koenigsegg.
The engine is a redesigned 5.0 litre twin-turbo V8 producing 1280 hp on standard gasoline and 1600 hp on 285 biofuel, alongside the revolutionary new 9-speed Koenigsegg Light Speed Transmission (LST) system. The LST, designed and built in-house, is capable of upward and downward gear changes at near light speed thanks to the simultaneous opening and closing of clutches that allow for totally seamless acceleration and deceleration. Advanced aerodynamics of the Jesko Attack offer over 1000 kg of downforce, creating the ultimate track weapon. The Absolut removes all the drag-causing elements and adds streamlined surfaces in the rear.
We look forward to the delivery of the other Japan-bound Jesko’s!
